Cute-patoot!

I can't believe he is one!!! I wasn't so sure if he would be the most cooperative during the photo session, but he did great! Do you love their gimmicks to try and make your kid smile? They usually work pretty good with a 1, 2 or 3 year old, but when they tried it on my 7 year old daughter, she thought they were nuts! Saying "I'm gonna get your mommy (tickle me with a feather duster). I felt so bad for Madison, and so annoyed with their abilities to interact with the kids when the are supposed to be professionals in that specific area....where do they get these people??? Ok, I'm done :) :) :)

Happy Birthday, Eli!

June 5th was a year since little (and I use that term loosely)Eli was born. (hard to forget :) My friend was gracious enough to let us party at her home. We has great food, and a cake, a TURTLE cake!! Eli really enjoyed his first cake. Only after I put a piece in his mouth did he realize that it was not only for squishing between your fingers and throwing all over the floor, it was SOOOO yummy too! It was a great day!

These are the days.

So, I know we are the non-posters, I guess that is because we keep waiting for something thrilling (like a job) to happen, and obviously it hasn't. Our day to day activities consist of waking up, kids off to school, cleaning, applying for jobs, errands, watching Gilmore Girls and other T.V. shows that are not so innocent (e.g. 24, Lost) Madi's homework, playing cars with Peyton, my Thursday volleyball night, Matt's game nights with the boys and at least once a week we go to a friends house to have F.H.E. or play games and EAT!

Recently I have been pulling out old recipes to share with new friends. My meatballs are always a hit, spinach salad was extra good, and spinach dip, ohhhh Heaven!! And YES folks, I dared to do it, I have been baking! Matt got a great baking cook book from Mommy for x-mas. I have made lemon poppyseed muffins, choco-nana bread, and if I had bought enough cream cheese the other day, I would have made my first cheesecake! (I'll attempt that tomorrow). Another reason we haven't blogged is cause Matts lap top hasn't worked since graduation, and our computer won't allow us to put our pics on it. Ok, enough excuses! As soon as I can, I will post one about Eli who is almost crawling, (does a great army crawl count?)

It's GONE!

Yes, I chopped my hair and I love it! It goes just to the bottom of my neck and and highlights and low lights. The day after I had it cut, Peyton was staring at me with that wonderous look and finally asked, ..."Mom, when are you going to put your hair back on?" Obviously he doesn't feel the same way as I do. But Madison and Matt like it.

Peyton, Peyton Bo beyton!

So, we have an extremely cute 4 year old! He says the funnest things because he is so literal and so observant. His new thing is, "I've a GREAT idea!"
But tonight we were cleaning up dinner and he was putting on his ninja turtle shirt and I said that the ninja turtles use their weapons to save the good people. Peyton replies, "I know, Jesus saves the ninja turtles so the ninja turtles don't be killed by the bad guys!" Yep, he's adorable! More fun quotes to come.

Pass Bar....check!

WooHOOOOOO! Can't say enough about the relief that we are feeling (not that we had ANY doubts whatsoever)that Studly Matt passed the BAR! We found out while we were visiting The Bird family this past weekend in Canada. What a great weekend, Thanksgiving turkey, pony rides, houseboating, lunch at my FAVORITE spot, SUBWAY, and to top it off, passing the BAR! We are poor, but very happy people!!

OK, we're gettin' on it!

So, LOTS, I mean LOTS has happened, and it's actually stuff that is BLOG worthy!!
We have a wonderful friends (Jeff & Cortney) that have many talents. Jeff is really getting into photography, so I took the opportunity to get some great pics of Eli. Eli,even being the wonderful baby that he is) was a little frustrated throughout the photo shoot and by the end of it all, had fallen fast asleep.
